Sara Beth Pinson, PhD, CPDT-KASara Beth has worked with companion pets for nearly 20 years, the majority of that with Pawtropolis. She originally worked with Pawtropolis from 2006 to 2011 while she was earning BSAs in Avian Biology and Biological Science and a PhD in Avian Biology. She returned to Pawtropolis as a manager in 2014 and has been growing with the company ever since. In addition to her years of experience in animal care, playgroup management, and customer service with Pawtropolis, she has worked as a Program Animal Keeper at the zoo, vet assistant in a small animal practice, caretaker then manager in another dog daycare, and professional dog walker. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed and is committed to furthering her education and qualifications through various learning opportunities (books, seminars, webinars, and certifications).
Sara Beth experienced the full growth of Pawtropolis from its original days when we were renting only 5000sf of space. During her years with Pawtropolis, she trained for pretty much every position (except professional groomer) and regularly works in our facilities. She understands the challenges of the day-to-day operations of a pet care facility and has first-hand experience in mitigating client, staff, and animal related issues. Even though she’s dedicated her career to companion pets and instead of academic research, she enjoys wearing her “scientist” hat and helping with the problem solving aspects of the company. She readily accepts the challenges of formulating management plans for difficult dogs in playgroups, figuring out how to accommodate employee availability, staffing needs, and financial restraints when creating staff schedules, trying to fit everything a client wants and needs in their facility layout, and creating or revamping services to maximize profit. Sara Beth's philosophy is that animal ownership should be a fun and enriching experience for humans and animals alike and strives to encourage this ideal with her staff and consulting clients. She considers it a privilege to work with Pawtropolis and Dog Daycare Business Consulting and help others provide the best care possible for their pets. Sara Beth lives in Atlanta with her husband Andrew and 3 dogs Bailey, Icey, and Nimbus. When Sara Beth isn’t working with Pawtropolis or Dog Daycare Business Consulting, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, going to the gym, and teaching agility classes. |
